I am looking to make short 3 minute ( edited ) videos on cooking. I’m a chef and have no clue where to start with what camera to purchase. Initially I wanted to get the canon 80 but untimately id lové advice on what the best camera for a ‘cooking show’ & great Instagram pics would be. For sound I’m doing voice over and would like to use the blue yeti.
Camcorders are often classified by their storage device; VHS, VHS-C, Betamax, Video8 are examples of late 20th century videotape-based camcorders which record video in analog form. Digital video camcorder formats include Digital8, MiniDV, DVD, hard disk drive, direct to disk recording and solid-state, semiconductor flash memory. While all these formats record video in digital form, Digital8, MiniDV, DVD and hard-disk drives have no longer been manufactured in consumer camcorders since 2006.
A camcorder is an electronic device combining a video camera and a video recorder. Although marketing materials may use the colloquial term “camcorder”, the name on the package and manual is often “video camera recorder”. Most devices capable of recording video are camera phones and digital cameras primarily intended for still pictures; the term “camcorder” is used to describe a portable, self-contained device, with video capture and recording its primary function.
Since the consumer market favors ease of use, portability and price, most consumer-grade camcorders emphasize handling and automation over audio and video performance. Most devices with camcorder capability are camera phones or compact digital cameras, in which video is a secondary capability. Some pocket cameras, mobile phones and camcorders are shock-, dust- and waterproof.
Multi-shot exposes the sensor to the image in a sequence of three or more openings of the lens aperture. There are several methods of application of the multi-shot technique. The most common originally was to use a single image sensor with three filters passed in front of the sensor in sequence to obtain the additive color information. Another multiple shot method is called Microscanning. This method uses a single sensor chip with a Bayer filter and physically moved the sensor on the focus plane of the lens to construct a higher resolution image than the native resolution of the chip. A third version combined the two methods without a Bayer filter on the chip.
A common alternative is the use of a card reader which may be capable of reading several types of storage media, as well as high speed transfer of data to the computer. Use of a card reader also avoids draining the camera battery during the download process. An external card reader allows convenient direct access to the images on a collection of storage media. But if only one storage card is in use, moving it back and forth between the camera and the reader can be inconvenient. Many computers have a card reader built in, at least for SD cards.
My options are AVCHD at 60P or MXP or FXP or LP. Or I can choose MP4 at 35, 24 or 17Mbps. But if I choose the highest setting of AVCHD or MP4, I cannot use certain other options and it will not allow the simultaneous 4Mbps MP4 recording. Anyway, do you have a recommendation for a Mac computer user for transferring these videos to DVD? I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles… just something easy to learn and use. THANKS!
If you open up a digital photograph in a paint (image editing) program, you can change it in all kinds of ways. A program like this works by adjusting the numbers that represent each pixel of the image. So, if you click on a control that makes the image 20 percent brighter, the program goes through all the numbers for each pixel in turn and increases them by 20 percent. If you mirror an image (flip it horizontally), the program reverses the sequence of the numbers it stores so they run in the opposite direction. What you see on the screen is the image changing as you edit or manipulate it. But what you don’t see is the paint program changing all the numbers in the background.
The smaller the f/number, the larger the effective aperture. The present system of f/numbers to give the effective aperture of a lens was standardized by an international convention in 1963 and is referred to as the British Standard (BS-1013). Other aperture measurement scales had been used through the early 20th century, including the European Scale, Intermediate settings, and the 1881 Uniform System proposed by the Royal Photographic Society, which are all now largely obsolete.:30 T-stops have been used for color motion picture lenses, to account for differences in light transmission through compound lenses, are calculated as T-number = f/number x √transmittance.:615
I want to create a series of videos that are instructional. Most of the video will PowerPoint with written and image content. Only a small percentage of it will be filming myself talking. I don’t have a lot of money to spend but wanted to at least have quality video and audio. I don’t want it to look like a cheesy home video and sound like I’m in a tunnel somewhere. I want it to look somewhat professionally done. What’s a good camera and microphone that I can use?
For casual photos, it does not matter much, but for sports or where you want to capture “THAT MOMENT” like an eagle catching fish or something, which happens at a particular moment, DSLR technique is helpful.
“Decent low-light performance is one reason why the Panasonic HC-V720 landed on our recommendation list, but don’t expect miracles. Its 1/2.33-inch CMOS sensor is bigger than the sensors found in smartphones and similarly-priced camcorders, but it’s a lot smaller than the ones found in really good compact cameras, mirrorless cameras, and DSLRs.”
Kit lens. One of the ways to cut down the cost of a DSLR setup is to look for a “kit” which will come with a lens and body. This can be a great way to save money when you’re first getting started. While many kit lenses (with some notable exceptions) are fairly low level, they are a cost-effective way for beginning photographers to get their gear at a good price — and if you decide to upgrade to better lenses you can always sell your kit lens down the road.
I’m a financial planner looking to shoot short educational videos on financial topics. I want to shoot videos for YouTube, FB and LinkedIn, mostly from a short distance, like 3-7 feet away. Indoors, in my conference room, me at my desk or in my conference room next to a 55 inch monitor with slides up….would the Canon 70d or 80d be good for me? I also plan on using a teleprompter.
Final quality of an image depends on all optical transformations in the chain of producing the image. Carl Zeiss points out that the weakest link in an optical chain determines the final image quality. In case of a digital camera, a simplistic way of expressing it is that the lens determines the maximum sharpness of the image while the image sensor determines the maximum resolution. The illustration on the right can be said to compare a lens with very poor sharpness on a camera with high resolution, to a lens with good sharpness on a camera with lower resolution.
The high end of the consumer market emphasizes user control and advanced shooting modes. More-expensive consumer camcorders offer manual exposure control, HDMI output and external audio input, progressive-scan frame rates (24fps, 25fps, 30fps) and higher-quality lenses than basic models. To maximize low-light capability, color reproduction and frame resolution, multi-CCD/CMOS camcorders mimic the 3-element imager design of professional equipment. Field tests have shown that most consumer camcorders (regardless of price) produce noisy video in low light.
We’ve never encountered the Besteker, and overall would suggest relying on a more widely known company. The Canon is only a smidge above $200, and is reliably good for its price. And Canon has a known background in excellent lenses and sensors, where Besteker does not.
In between entry-level and full-frame DSLR are a whole range of models aimed at different users, different levels of experience and different budgets. Here’s our pick of the standout DSLR cameras you can buy right now:
But lens options aren’t as vast as they are with the Canon and Nikon SLR systems. You have a much larger selection with a Canon or Nikon, including many excellent third-party options from Sigma and Tamron. SLR lens options like the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary aren’t matched by mirrorless in terms of value, and you also have access to exotic glass like the AF-S Nikkor 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR ($16,299.95), the likes of which simply isn’t available in a mirrorless format at this time.
The Cromemco Cyclops was an all-digital camera introduced as a commercial product in 1975. Its design was published as a hobbyist construction project in the February 1975 issue of Popular Electronics magazine, and it used a 32×32 Metal Oxide Semiconductor sensor.
The other option would be to alter the frame rate of the recording, which I’m pretty sure you can do. According to the manual, “Scene(s) recorded in the recording format [MP4/iFrame], scene(s) saved in MP4 (1920k1080/25p), MP4 (1280k720/ 25p) or MP4 (640k360/25p): “MP4/iFrame scene(s)”
Stand alone cameras can be used as remote camera. One kind weighs 2.31 ounces (65.5 g), with a periscope shape, IPx7 water-resistance and dust-resistance rating and can be enhanced to IPx8 by using a cap. They have no viewfinder or LCD. Lens is a 146 degree wide angle or standard lens, with fixed focus. It can have a microphone and speaker, And it can take photos and video. As a remote camera, a phone app using Android or iOS is needed to send live video, change settings, take photos, or use time lapse.
